I forgot to mention this on my recent podcasts, but I’ve uploaded a bunch of pictures from hikes so far this year. Here are links to a few sets:
White River Snowshoe – Jan. 27
I took a Wednesday off to go snowshoeing with Anna, a former moderator and event planner for PortlandHikers. She’ll be on my show soon to talk about this trip. As you can see, the weather was incredible.
Larch Mountain Loop – Jan. 30/31
My first overnight of the year. I’m going to try to go camping at least once a month every month in 2010. I started the day with Ron (the winner of my first photo contest) and some of his friends — they headed back down after lunch and I continued up toward Larch Mountain. We started at Horsetail Falls in the top right of the map, I followed Trail 424 to Larch Mountain, then I went down the other side on Trail 441 and found a camping spot at the green dot. The next morning I continued down 441 to Multnomah Falls and finished the loop by heading northeast along Trail 400. (Click the map to enlarge.)
Silver Star Mountain – Feb. 7
I was thinking about doing a hike in the Gorge, but the weather was supposed to be nice and clear, so my friend and I decided to do Silver Star Mountain. The weather was not clear.
Also, I added a new tab to the navigation bar on my website: 2010 Hike Log. You can see where I’ve gone and how many miles I’ve done so far this year.
